LAVA Launches Two Parallel PCI Express Cards

Toronto, ON, November 3, 2008 — LAVA Computer MFG Inc. today announced the release of its fourth and fifth in a line of PCI Express expansion cards. The LAVA Parallel-PCIe is a single-port parallel card that is the natural line extension of our current set of Parallel PCI cards, namely the Parallel-PCI, Parallel-PCI/LP, Parallel-PCI 3.3 Volt, and Dual Parallel-PCI cards.

The LAVA Parallel-PCIe provides parallel port expansion utilizing the PCI Express bus, both for current server technology as well as for specialized PC desktop models. LAVA is launching both full-height and low-profile versions concurrently to the reseller marketplace.

"Parallel PCI cards have sold as strongly for LAVA as serial cards have. We fully expect these cards to be as successful as our serial cards and we are mildly surprised at the resiliency of this technology. With over 25 years of industry-leading experience in the design and manufacture of expansion ports in North America, we are pleased to offer our supply chain a follow-on parallel port technology for their customers," said Bob Figol, Vice President, LAVA Computer MFG Inc. "The strength of these new parallel ports is that they are a high-speed parallel that is backwardly compatible with PCI applications."

The features of these new cards include:

• Form factor: 1x. Will fit into any PCIe slot.
• Form factor: LAVA's full-height PCIe cards are engineered to fit full height cases while the low-profile is engineered for smaller form factors
• Driver support: Win 2000/XP/Vista
• Parallel modes: IEEE 1284 - bi-directional, Enhanced Parallel Port (EPP)

• Certifications: CE, FCC, UL, CSA, RoHS.

• LAVA Lifetime Warranty

The LAVA Parallel-PCIe cards, like all LAVA products, are covered by the LAVA Lifetime Warranty and LAVA Technical Support is staffed by technical engineers to answer questions or troubleshoot installations Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST.
